Ingredients

  • 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda
  • 3/4 cup of unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons of orange zest
  • 1/4 cup of natural orange juice
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • Extra sugar to sprinkle

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 °C (350 °F) and prepare a baking tray with parchment paper.
  2. Beat the butter with the sugar until it is fluffy.
  3. Add the egg, orange zest, orange juice, and vanilla extract. Mix well.
  4. Gradually incorporate the flour, baking soda, and salt to form a soft dough.
  5. Form balls, roll them in sugar, and place them on the tray. Flatten them slightly.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until they are slightly golden.
  7. Let cool on a rack, then enjoy the freshly baked orange cookies!
