Ingredients

  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon sodium bicarbonate
  • 3/4 cup of butter, softened
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons of orange zest
  • 1/4 cup of natural orange juice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Extra sugar to sprinkle

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven at 180 °C (350 °F) and prepare a tray with parchment paper.
  2. Beat the butter with the sugar until it is spongy.
  3. Add the egg, zest, orange juice, and vanilla. Mix well.
  4. Gradually incorporate flour, bicarbonate, and salt to form a soft dough.
  5. Form balls, roll them in sugar, and place them on the tray. Flatten them slightly.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until slightly golden.
  7. Let cool on a rack and enjoy.
