Ingredients

- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 1/2 teaspoon sodium bicarbonate
- 3/4 cup of butter, softened
- 1 cup of sugar
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons of orange zest
- 1/4 cup of natural orange juice
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Extra sugar to sprinkle
Instructions
- Preheat the oven at 180 °C (350 °F) and prepare a tray with parchment paper.
- Beat the butter with the sugar until it is spongy.
- Add the egg, zest, orange juice, and vanilla. Mix well.
- Gradually incorporate flour, bicarbonate, and salt to form a soft dough.
- Form balls, roll them in sugar, and place them on the tray. Flatten them slightly.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until slightly golden.
- Let cool on a rack and enjoy.
Notes
Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. Freeze for up to three months, wrapped well.
