Description

A delightful homemade loaf filled with sweet apples and a swirl of cinnamon sugar, perfect for breakfast, snacks, or dessert.


Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2/3 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 3/4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 apples, peeled and chopped
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 2 tablespoons milk (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a bowl, mix the brown sugar and cinnamon together. Set aside.
  3. In another bowl, beat the white sugar and softened butter together until smooth and creamy.
  4. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Combine the flour and baking powder, then add to the creamed mixture. Mix well.
  6. Stir in the milk until the batter is smooth.
  7. Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan. Cover it with half of the chopped apples and half of the brown sugar and cinnamon mixture.
  8. Pour the remaining batter over the apple layer, then top with the remaining apples and brown sugar-cinnamon mixture.
  9. Bake for 50-65 minutes, until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  10. Allow the loaf to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack.
  11. For the glaze, whisk together powdered sugar and 2 tablespoons of milk, then drizzle over the cooled loaf.

Notes

Serve warm or at room temperature. Add butter or whipped cream for an extra treat. Best stored in an airtight container at room temperature.
