- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 3/4 cups granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup hot coffee
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 2 cups heavy cream, whipped
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a large bowl, mix together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla to the dry ingredients. Beat the mixture on medium speed for 2 minutes, then stir in the hot coffee.
- Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pans. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer them to wire racks to cool completely.
- For the cream cheese filling, beat the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth. Gently fold in the whipped cream.
- Spread the cream cheese filling between the cooled cake layers. Frost the top and sides of the cake and decorate as desired.
- Chill the cake in the fridge before serving to let the flavors meld together. Slice and enjoy your delicious dessert!
Notes
Make sure your ingredients are at room temperature for better mixing. Don’t overmix the batter and gently fold in whipped cream for a fluffier filling.
