- 1 box chocolate cake mix
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup peanut butter
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 cups milk
- 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup crushed peanuts (optional for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, prepare the chocolate cake mix according to package instructions, replacing vegetable oil with melted butter.
- Pour the cake batter into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together peanut butter, powdered sugar, and milk until smooth and creamy.
- Pour the peanut butter mixture over the cake batter.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Meanwhile, heat the chocolate chips and heavy cream until melted and smooth.
- Once the cake is done, pour the melted chocolate sauce over the top.
- Let cool slightly before serving, and garnish with crushed peanuts if desired.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate for longer shelf life. Bring to room temperature before serving again for the best flavor.
