- 1 box chocolate cake mix
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup peanut butter
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 cups milk
- 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup crushed peanuts (optional for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, prepare the chocolate cake mix according to package instructions, substituting melted butter for vegetable oil.
- Pour the cake batter into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together peanut butter, powdered sugar, and milk until smooth.
- Pour the peanut butter mixture over the cake batter, spreading evenly.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- While the cake bakes, heat chocolate chips and heavy cream in a saucepan over medium heat until smooth.
- Once the cake is done, pour the melted chocolate sauce over the top and spread evenly.
- Let cool slightly before serving. Garnish with crushed peanuts if desired.
Notes
Serve warm or at room temperature. It pairs well with vanilla ice cream.
