Description

A delightful dessert featuring creamy custard, fresh bananas, and a crunchy graham cracker crust topped with whipped cream.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 2 cups milk
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 ripe bananas, sliced
  • 2 cups whipped cream
  • Extra graham crumbs for topping

Instructions

  1. Mix graham cracker crumbs and melted butter together in a bowl. Press this mixture into a baking dish and chill in the refrigerator.
  2. In a saucepan, combine sugar, cornstarch, and milk. Cook over medium heat until the mixture thickens.
  3. Temper the egg yolks by slowly adding some of the hot mixture to them, stirring constantly. Then return everything back to the pan and cook until smooth. Add the butter and vanilla extract, stirring well.
  4. Layer the sliced bananas over the chilled crust. Pour the custard mixture over the bananas and chill in the refrigerator for about 2 hours.
  5. Before serving, top the dessert with whipped cream and sprinkle extra graham crumbs on top.

Notes

Use ripe bananas for the best flavor and chill the dessert for at least 2 hours before serving.
