Description

A delightful no-bake dessert combining layers of angel food cake, vanilla pudding, cherry pie filling, and Cool Whip. Perfect for gatherings and special occasions.


Ingredients

  • 1 angel food cake (pre-made or from a boxed mix, cooled)
  • 1 can (540 mL, 18 ounces) cherry pie filling
  • 1 package (102 grams, 3.6 ounces) 4-serving instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 1 1/2 cups 2% milk
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 8 ounces Cool Whip
  • Sliced almonds (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. Cut the angel food cake into cubes, about 1 inch in size.
  2. In a 9×9 inch cake pan, arrange half of the cake pieces evenly at the bottom.
  3. Spread 2/3 of the cherry pie filling over the cake layer.
  4. Layer the remaining cake cubes over the cherry pie filling.
  5. In a medium bowl, mix the pudding mix, milk, and sour cream until smooth. Spread this mixture over the cake layer.
  6. Spread the Cool Whip over the pudding layer.
  7. Top with the remaining cherry pie filling.
  8. Chill the dessert in the fridge for 240 to 300 minutes.
  9. Optionally, sprinkle slivered almonds on top before serving.

Notes

Best served chilled. Store leftovers in the fridge, and consume within 3 to 4 days for optimal freshness.
