Description

A delightful dessert combining rich chocolate flavors and the nutty essence of hazelnuts, topped with Ferrero Rocher chocolates.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1.5 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp espresso powder
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup cocoa powder (for frosting)
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/3 cup hazelnut liqueur or extract
  • Pinch of salt (for frosting)
  • 2/3 cup heavy cream (for ganache)
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips (for ganache)
  • Ferrero Rocher chocolates (for garnish)
  • Gold sprinkles (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (177°C) and grease and flour three 8-inch cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and espresso powder.
  3. Add the milk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract, then beat on medium speed until smooth.
  4. Carefully stir in the boiling water and mix on low speed.
  5. Divide the batter evenly between the pans and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  6. For the frosting, beat the softened butter until light and fluffy. Gradually add cocoa powder, powdered sugar, hazelnut liqueur, and a pinch of salt, mixing until smooth.
  7. For the ganache, heat the cream until steaming, then pour it over the chocolate chips, let sit for 5 minutes, and whisk until smooth.
  8. Let the cake layers cool completely. Place the first layer on a cake stand, spread halved Ferrero Rocher chocolates on top, add the second layer, and cover with hazelnut frosting.
  9. Place the last layer on top and pour the ganache over. Garnish with Ferrero Rocher chocolates and sprinkle gold for a glamorous touch.

Notes

Ensure all ingredients are at room temperature for smooth batter. Espresso powder enhances chocolate flavor.
