- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp cornstarch
- 1/2 tsp salt

- 4 oz cream cheese (for glaze)
- 1/2 cup confectioners’ sugar, sifted (for glaze)

- 1 tsp vanilla extract (for glaze)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 13×9-inch baking pan.
- In a mixer, cream the softened butter and cream cheese together until smooth.
- Add granulated and brown sugar to the mixer, followed by the eggs and vanilla extract. Mix well.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, cornstarch, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the mixer, alternating with buttermilk. Mix until well combined.
- Spread half of the batter into the prepared pan. Layer with guava marmalade, then add the remaining batter on top.
- For the streusel, mix together melted butter, flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, vanilla, and salt until you get a crumbly texture. Sprinkle this mixture on top of the cake batter.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 40-50 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- For the glaze, mix cream cheese, confectioners’ sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
- Let the cake cool, then drizzle with the glaze and some extra guava marmalade before slicing and serving.
Notes
For a different twist, try adding nuts like pecans or walnuts to the streusel topping. This cake stores well and can be made a day in advance.
