Ingredients

- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (14 oz) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes
- 2 tbsp chili powder
- 1 tsp cumin
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup beef broth
- Optional toppings: shredded cheese, sour cream, green onions
Instructions
- In a large pot, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
- Add chopped onion and minced garlic; sauté for 3-4 minutes until softened.
- Stir in the kidney beans, diced tomatoes, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper.
- Pour in beef broth and bring to a simmer.
- Reduce heat and let simmer for 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Serve hot, topped with cheese, sour cream, and green onions if desired.
