- 1 lb flank or skirt steak
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- Salt & pepper, to taste
- 6 small corn tortillas
- 1 avocado, diced
- 1/2 red onion, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
- 2 tbsp lime juice
- 1/3 cup crumbled cotija cheese
- 1 jalapeño, minced (optional)
Instructions
- Rub the steak with olive oil, chili powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Let it rest for 10 minutes.
- Grill the steak over high heat for 4–5 minutes on each side for medium-rare. Let it rest before slicing thinly.
- In a bowl, mix the diced avocado, red onion, cilantro, lime juice, and minced jalapeño.
- Warm the tortillas in a skillet or on the grill until slightly charred.
- Assemble the tacos by adding slices of steak, avocado salsa, and a sprinkle of cotija cheese.
- Serve the tacos warm with lime wedges on the side.

Store leftovers with components separate to maintain freshness. Use lime juice on avocado to prevent browning.
