Description

Delicious and fudgy brownies made with Greek yogurt for a healthier treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt (plain, non-fat)
  • 1/2 cup almond flour
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1/4 cup dark chocolate chips (optional)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • A pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8 inch baking dish with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the Greek yogurt, honey (or maple syrup), applesauce, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. Stir in the almond flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt until well combined. Fold in the dark chocolate chips if using.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  5. Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean or with a few crumbs.
  6. Let the brownies cool in the baking dish for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely. Once cooled, slice into 12 pieces and serve.

Notes

For best results, ensure Greek yogurt is at room temperature. You can use whole wheat flour or coconut flour as substitutes for almond flour.
