Description

A delicious dish featuring marinated chicken served in warm pita bread topped with fresh vegetables and a creamy tzatziki sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs (or breasts)
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Pita bread
  • Sliced vegetables (tomatoes, onions, lettuce)
  • Cucumber tzatziki sauce

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper.
  2. Add the chicken to the marinade and let it sit for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Cook the marinated chicken for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked.
  5. Remove the chicken from heat and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing.
  6. Serve the sliced chicken in pita bread with sliced vegetables and drizzle with cucumber tzatziki sauce.

Notes

Marinate chicken longer for more flavor. Use fresh vegetables for added crunch. Add jalapeños or cayenne pepper for heat.
