Description
A delightful dessert that combines creamy cheesecake with the flavors of caramel and apple, perfect for special occasions.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups graham cracker crumbs
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 3 (8 oz) packages cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 3 eggs
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup flour
- 3 apples, peeled and sliced
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/2 cup caramel sauce
- Whipped cream (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C). In a medium bowl, mix together graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and sugar. Press evenly into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan and bake for 10 minutes. Let cool.
- In a large bowl, beat cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in sour cream and flour until combined, then pour over the cooled crust.
- Wrap the bottom of the springform pan in aluminum foil and place it in a larger baking dish filled with hot water. Bake for 50-60 minutes until set but slightly jiggly. Turn off the oven, crack the door, and cool for 1 hour before chilling in the fridge for at least 4 hours or overnight.
- In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add apples, sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Cook until apples are tender (about 10 minutes) and cool slightly.
- Once the cheesecake is chilled, top with caramelized apple mixture and drizzle with caramel sauce. Garnish with whipped cream if desired.
Notes
Ensure cream cheese is softened for easier mixing. Don’t skip the water bath for moisture. Chill overnight for a firmer cheesecake.
