German Chocolate Fudge

Description

A rich and creamy fudge that combines chocolate, coconut, and pecans for a delightful treat.


Ingredients

  • 3 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cubed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup shredded sweetened coconut
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)

Instructions

  1. Line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper, leaving a little overhang for easy removal.
  2. In a medium saucepan over low heat, combine the chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, and butter. Stir continuously until smooth and melted. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
  3. Gently fold in the shredded coconut and chopped pecans, reserving a small amount of each for topping.
  4. Pour half of the fudge mixture into the prepared pan, spreading evenly. Drizzle half of the caramel sauce over the fudge.
  5. Add the remaining fudge mixture on top and smooth it out. Finish by drizzling the remaining caramel sauce and sprinkling with reserved coconut and pecans.
  6. Refrigerate the fudge for at least 2-3 hours, or until firm.
  7. Lift the fudge out using the parchment paper, cut into squares, and serve.

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks, or freeze for up to three months.
