German Chocolate Cheesecake

Description

A delightful dessert combining cream cheese and German chocolate with the sweetness of coconut and pecans.


Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup German chocolate, melted
  • 1 cup sweetened shredded coconut
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (160°C). Grease a 9-inch springform pan.
  2. In a bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs and melted butter; press this mixture into the bottom of the prepared pan.
  3. In a large bowl, beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract and melted German chocolate.
  5. Fold in the shredded coconut and chopped pecans gently.
  6. Pour the cream cheese mixture over the crust in the springform pan.
  7. Bake for 55-60 minutes or until the center is set.
  8. Let the cheesecake cool, then refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  9. Before serving, whip the heavy cream and spread it over the cheesecake.
