Ingredients

  • 1 lb boneless skinless chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 20 oz refrigerated cheese tortellini
  • 2 cups small broccoli florets (fresh or thawed if frozen)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add chicken and season with Cajun seasoning; sear until golden and cooked through, about 6–8 minutes. Remove chicken and set aside.
  3. Add garlic to the skillet and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Pour in heavy cream, chicken broth, onion powder, and smoked paprika; stir and bring to a gentle simmer.
  5. Stir in Parmesan cheese until the sauce is thick, creamy, and smooth.
  6. Cook tortellini in salted boiling water according to package instructions; add broccoli during the last 2 minutes.
  7. Drain tortellini and broccoli, then add to the sauce.
  8. Return cooked chicken to skillet and toss to coat everything in the sauce; simmer for another 2–3 minutes.
  9. Serve hot, optionally topped with extra Parmesan.

Notes

For extra flavor, add fresh herbs like basil or parsley before serving. Use a lighter cream option for a healthier version.
