Description

A comforting dish of tender beef tips simmered in garlic sauce, paired with smooth creamy mashed potatoes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 lb beef sirloin or stew meat, cut into chunks
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp flour (for thickening)
  • 1 tsp dried parsley or Italian herbs
  • Salt & black pepper to taste
  • Fresh chopped parsley (for garnish)
  • 3 large russet or Yukon Gold potatoes
  • 3 tbsp butter (for mashed potatoes)
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream or milk
  • Salt to taste (for mashed potatoes)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear beef chunks until browned.
  2. Add minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, and butter to the skillet. Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute. Add beef broth and herbs, mixing well.
  3. Cover the skillet and simmer the beef on low heat for 20–25 minutes until fork-tender.
  4. Boil the potatoes in salted water until soft. Drain and mash with butter, heavy cream or milk, and salt until smooth.
  5. Spoon the creamy mash into bowls, top with beef tips and sauce, and sprinkle with fresh parsley.

Notes

For extra flavor, marinate the beef in Worcestershire and soy sauce for an hour before cooking. Use a potato ricer for the smoothest mashed potatoes.
