Description

A delicious and easy-to-make dish that brings the flavors of Chinese cuisine into your kitchen with tender chicken, crunchy vegetables, and flavorful noodles.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz lo mein noodles
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 1 lb chicken breast, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup shredded carrots
  • 1 cup snap peas
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the lo mein noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a bowl, toss the sliced chicken with cornstarch, salt, and pepper.
  3. Heat 1 tablespoon of sesame oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and stir-fry for 5-6 minutes until golden and cooked through. Remove the chicken and set it aside.
  4. In the same pan, add the remaining sesame oil. Stir-fry the minced garlic for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Add the sliced bell pepper, shredded carrots, and snap peas. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until vegetables are crisp-tender.
  6. Return the chicken to the pan along with the cooked noodles.
  7. In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, sugar, rice vinegar, and crushed red pepper (if using). Pour this sauce over the stir-fry and toss everything together to coat evenly.
  8. Cook for another 2-3 minutes, stirring often, until everything is heated through and coated in sauce.
  9. Garnish with sliced green onions and serve hot.

Notes
