- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 cup strawberries, chopped
- 1/2 cup strawberry jam
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- Whipped cream for serving (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a round cake pan.
- In a bowl, mix together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- In another large bowl, beat together the butter and sugar until creamy. Add in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk, until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips and half of the strawberries.
- Pour half of the batter into the prepared cake pan, then spread strawberry jam over it, and top with the remaining batter.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Once cooled, layer the cake with the remaining chopped strawberries and top with whipped cream if desired.
- Slice and serve to enjoy this rich and fruity delight!
Notes
Ensure the butter is softened for easier mixing. Use fresh strawberries for the best flavor. You can substitute the chocolate chips with white chocolate for a different taste. Feel free to add nuts for more texture if you prefer.
