Description

A delightful dessert featuring a flaky crust filled with creamy pastry and topped with fresh fruits.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/4 cups flour
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup cold butter
  • 12 tbsp cold water
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • Fresh fruit (strawberries, kiwis, mangoes, blackberries)
  • Apricot jam (optional)
  • Water (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Tart Shell: In a bowl, mix the flour and powdered sugar. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture is crumbly. Add cold water a little at a time until the dough forms. Chill the dough, then roll it out and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 25 minutes until golden.
  2. Make the Pastry Cream: Heat the milk and add vanilla. In another bowl, whisk together the egg yolks, sugar, and cornstarch. Combine the mixtures and cook over low heat until thick. Stir in the butter and let it chill.
  3. Assemble the Tart: Fill the cooled tart shell with the chilled pastry cream. Top with your favorite fresh fruits. For an optional glaze, mix apricot jam with a bit of water and brush over the fruit.
  4. Chill and Serve: Chill the assembled tart in the fridge, slice it up, and enjoy this delicious dessert!

Notes

For best flavor, use fresh, seasonal fruits. Store leftovers in the fridge for 1-2 days.
