- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 pound ground pork
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon thyme
- 1 teaspoon sage
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 pastry for pie crust
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large skillet, cook the chopped onion and minced garlic until translucent.
- Add ground beef and ground pork, cooking until browned.
- Stir in thyme, sage, salt, and pepper, then remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
- Roll out the pastry and fit it into a pie dish.
- Fill the pie crust with the meat mixture, then cover with the top crust.
- Seal the edges and cut slits in the top for steam to escape.
- Brush the top with beaten egg.
- Bake for 45-55 minutes or until golden brown.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
