Description

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 pound ground pork
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 teaspoon sage
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 pastry for pie crust
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, cook the chopped onion and minced garlic until translucent.
  3. Add ground beef and ground pork, cooking until browned.
  4. Stir in thyme, sage, salt, and pepper, then remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
  5. Roll out the pastry and fit it into a pie dish.
  6. Fill the pie crust with the meat mixture, then cover with the top crust.
  7. Seal the edges and cut slits in the top for steam to escape.
  8. Brush the top with beaten egg.
  9. Bake for 45-55 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Serve warm with a side of fresh salad or vegetables. Great for leftovers.
