- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and garlic powder.
- Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese.
- In a separate bowl, whisk the milk, melted butter, and egg.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined (do not overmix).
- Pour the batter into the greased loaf pan.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let the bread cool for a few minutes before slicing. Serve warm.
Notes
Do not overmix the batter to keep the bread fluffy. You can experiment with different types of cheese for added flavor.
