Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and garlic powder.
  3. Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk the milk, melted butter, and egg.
  5. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined (do not overmix).
  6. Pour the batter into the greased loaf pan.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Let the bread cool for a few minutes before slicing. Serve warm.

Notes

Do not overmix the batter to keep the bread fluffy. You can experiment with different types of cheese for added flavor.
