Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 3 cups granulated sugar
  • 5 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 teaspoon lemon extract
  • 1 teaspoon butter extract
  • 1 teaspoon coconut extract
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (for glaze)
  • 1/4 cup water (for glaze)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for glaze)
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract (for glaze)
  • 1 teaspoon lemon extract (for glaze)
  • 1 teaspoon butter extract (for glaze)
  • 1 teaspoon coconut extract (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C). Grease and flour a bundt pan or tube pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, beat butter, shortening, and sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  5. Gradually add the flour mixture to the batter, alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with the flour mixture.
  6. Stir in the vanilla, almond, lemon, butter, and coconut extracts until well combined.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
  8. Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. While the cake bakes, prepare the glaze by combining sugar, water, and all extracts in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir until the sugar dissolves. Remove from heat.
  10. When the cake is done, allow it to cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Turn it out onto a wire rack and brush the glaze over the warm cake.
  11. Let cool completely before serving.

Notes

Make sure all your ingredients are at room temperature for the best results. Do not overmix your batter.
