Description
A quick and easy recipe for homemade pizza dough that saves you time and allows for customization with your favorite toppings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 to 4½ cups all-purpose flour (pizza flour or bread flour)
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 2¼ teaspoons Quick Rise Instant yeast
- 1½ cups warm water
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 450°F if you plan to bake a pizza. If not, you can freeze the dough after you make it.
- In a mixing bowl, combine 4 cups of flour, sugar, salt, and yeast. Whisk these dry ingredients together.
- Add the warm water and olive oil to the bowl. Mix until everything is blended. If the dough feels too wet, gradually add enough flour to create a soft dough that is slightly sticky.
- Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead it until smooth, roughly about 5 minutes.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl and let it rest on the counter for 10 to 15 minutes if using Quick Rise yeast. Otherwise, let it rest for 60 to 90 minutes for standard yeast.
- Divide the dough into two balls.
- To freeze the dough, wrap each dough ball tightly in plastic wrap and place them in a zip-top bag. To bake, roll out the dough on a floured surface, add toppings, and bake until golden brown and bubbly.
