  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup brewed espresso
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix the melted butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and brewed espresso.
  4. Combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  5. Fold in the dark chocolate chips.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
