Description

A rich and decadent chocolate cake, layered with chocolate ganache and topped with whipped cream and chocolatey treats.


Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup hot water
  • 2 cups chocolate ganache
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chocolate chunks
  • 1 cup whipped cream
  • Chocolate bars, truffles, and candies for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease three 8-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add the milk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Beat everything together until smooth.
  4. Gradually stir in the hot water until the batter is fully combined.
  5. Divide the batter evenly among the three prepared cake pans.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then turn them out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. Once cooled, layer the cakes with chocolate ganache in between.
  9. Top the cake with whipped cream, chocolate chips, chocolate chunks, and any additional chocolate decorations you like.

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to five days or freeze for up to three months. Make sure all ingredients are at room temperature for best results.
