Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, mix buttermilk, vegetable oil, eggs, vanilla extract, and cassis until well combined.
- Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Frost the cake with chocolate frosting and garnish with fresh berries before serving.
