- 200g butter, softened
- 200g caster sugar
- 4 eggs
- 200g self-raising flour
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 500g fondant icing
- Food coloring (pink, orange, blue, yellow)
- Edible flowers or flower paste
- 200g buttercream
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C and grease a butterfly-shaped cake tin.
- Cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then, fold in the flour and vanilla extract.
- Pour the batter into the prepared tin and bake for 25-30 minutes. Let it cool completely after baking.
- Roll out the fondant and color sections with your chosen food coloring. Cut the fondant into flower shapes and butterfly wing shapes.
- Cover the cooled cake with a layer of buttercream. Decorate with the fondant flowers and add a butterfly topper.
- Allow the cake to set for 1 hour before serving.
