Ingredients

  • 200g caster sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 200g self-raising flour
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 500g fondant icing
  • Food coloring (pink, orange, blue, yellow)
  • Edible flowers or flower paste
  • 200g buttercream

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C and grease a butterfly-shaped cake tin.
  2. Cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then, fold in the flour and vanilla extract.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared tin and bake for 25-30 minutes. Let it cool completely after baking.
  5. Roll out the fondant and color sections with your chosen food coloring. Cut the fondant into flower shapes and butterfly wing shapes.
  6. Cover the cooled cake with a layer of buttercream. Decorate with the fondant flowers and add a butterfly topper.
  7. Allow the cake to set for 1 hour before serving.
