Description

A beautiful dessert featuring a soft sponge cake rolled with creamy filling and decorated with edible flowers.


Ingredients

  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 cup whipped cream
  • Food coloring (pink)
  • Edible flowers or fondant roses for decoration

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a jelly roll pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, beat the eggs and sugar together until the mixture is thick. Then, add the vanilla extract.
  3. Sift together the flour and baking powder, and gently fold this into the egg mixture until combined.
  4. Spread the batter evenly in the prepared pan and bake for 10-12 minutes.
  5. Once baked, roll the warm cake with the parchment paper and let it cool completely.
  6. When the cake has cooled, carefully unroll it, spread a layer of whipped cream over it, and then roll it back up.
  7. Decorate the outside with colored cream and edible roses or fondant decorations.
  8. Refrigerate the Swiss roll for at least 1 hour before serving.

Notes

For variations, you can use different fillings such as fruit preserves or chocolate ganache.
