Description

A delightful dessert featuring a light sponge cake filled with luscious whipped cream, beautifully rolled for a stunning presentation.


Ingredients

  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 cup whipped cream
  • Food coloring (pink)
  • Edible flowers or fondant roses for decoration

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a jelly roll pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, beat together the eggs and sugar until the mixture is thick and pale. Then, add the vanilla extract.
  3. Sift the flour and baking powder together. Gently fold this dry mixture into the egg mixture until well combined.
  4. Spread the batter evenly in the prepared pan and bake for 10-12 minutes or until lightly golden.
  5. As soon as it comes out of the oven, roll the warm cake with the parchment paper inside, then let it cool completely.
  6. Once cool, unroll the cake carefully, spread the whipped cream evenly on top, and roll it back up.
  7. Decorate the rolled cake with pink colored cream and place edible roses or fondant roses on top for a charming finish.
  8. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving to set everything nicely.

Notes

Serve with extra edible flowers or a dusting of powdered sugar for added elegance. Best enjoyed within 2-3 days.
