- 4 eggs
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 cup whipped cream
- Food coloring (pink)
- Edible flowers or fondant roses for decoration
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a jelly roll pan with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, beat together the eggs and sugar until the mixture is thick and pale. Then, add the vanilla extract.
- Sift the flour and baking powder together. Gently fold this dry mixture into the egg mixture until well combined.
- Spread the batter evenly in the prepared pan and bake for 10-12 minutes or until lightly golden.
- As soon as it comes out of the oven, roll the warm cake with the parchment paper inside, then let it cool completely.
- Once cool, unroll the cake carefully, spread the whipped cream evenly on top, and roll it back up.
- Decorate the rolled cake with pink colored cream and place edible roses or fondant roses on top for a charming finish.
- Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving to set everything nicely.
Notes
Serve with extra edible flowers or a dusting of powdered sugar for added elegance. Best enjoyed within 2-3 days.
