Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla extract. Beat for 2 minutes until smooth and creamy.
- Carefully stir in boiling water. The batter will be thin, which helps keep the cake moist.
- Divide the batter evenly between prepared pans.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean when inserted.
- Cool in pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
- Spread chocolate ganache between layers, then cover the top and sides. Smooth for a beautiful finish.
- Garnish with whipped cream and chocolate shavings or chips.
