- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 cup eggnog
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 4 large egg yolks
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, whisk together egg yolks and sugar until smooth.
- Add heavy cream, whole milk, and eggnog to the saucepan.
- Cook over medium heat until the mixture thickens slightly, stirring constantly.
- Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract and ground nutmeg.
- Let the mixture cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
- Pour the chilled mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
- Transfer to a lidded container and freeze until firm, about 4 hours.
- Scoop into bowls or cones and enjoy!
Notes
Store in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 2 weeks. Let it sit out for a few minutes before serving to soften.
