A rich and creamy Eggless Black Forest Cake with layers of soft chocolate sponge, whipped cream, and sweet cherries, perfect for celebrations.

- 1/2 cup water
- 1 tbsp white vinegar
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract (for frosting)
- 1 1/2 cups fresh or jarred cherries, pitted and halved
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for filling)
- 1 tbsp lemon juice (optional, for filling)
- 1 tbsp cornstarch (optional, to thicken)
- Shaved chocolate or chocolate curls (for garnish)
- Fresh cherries (whole or halved, for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line two 9-inch round cake pans with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Add the sugar and mix until well combined.
- In another bowl, whisk together the vegetable oil, vanilla extract, buttermilk, and water. Gradually add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients, stirring until smooth. Stir in the vinegar.
- Pour the batter evenly into the prepared cake pans. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Allow the cakes to cool completely.
- For the cherry filling, combine cherries and sugar in a saucepan over medium heat for about 5-7 minutes. If desired, thicken with cornstarch. Let it cool completely.
- To make the whipped cream frosting, beat heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract together until soft peaks form.
- Slice each cooled cake in half to create four layers. Layer whipped cream and cherry filling between the layers.
- Top the cake with whipped cream, then garnish with chocolate curls and fresh cherries.
- Chill for 1 hour before serving. Enjoy!

Ensure all ingredients are at room temperature for best results. Substitute buttermilk with milk and lemon juice if needed.
