Description

A delightful dessert that combines the richness of chocolate with the creamy flavor of egg liqueur, perfect for special occasions.


Ingredients

  • 230 g Butter, softened
  • 180 g Sugar
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 vanilla bean (optional)
  • 4 eggs (size M)
  • 200 g Eierlikör (egg liqueur)
  • 320 g All-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp Baking powder
  • 100 g Dark chocolate
  • 1 tbsp Powdered sugar (optional)
  • Some butter for the pan
  • 1 tbsp Flour for the pan

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (160°C fan). Grease a bundt cake pan (22 cm diameter) and dust it with flour, tapping out the excess.
  2. In a mixing bowl, beat the butter, sugar, and salt until creamy and white. Scrape the seeds from the vanilla bean and add them to the mixture.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, continuing to beat at high speed while incorporating the Eierlikör.
  4. Mix the flour and baking powder, then add them to the mixture. Finely chop the dark chocolate and fold it into the batter.
  5. Fill the prepared bundt cake pan with the batter and smooth the surface.
  6. Bake in the lower third of the preheated oven for about 1 hour. After baking, insert a toothpick: if batter sticks, bake for an additional 5 minutes and test again.

Notes

For a lovely finishing touch, dust the cake with powdered sugar. Pairs beautifully with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. Store in an airtight container.
