A delicious and satisfying meal that combines tender chicken, bright lemon, and creamy sauce, all served over charming bowtie pasta.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts, sliced into strips
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • Zest and juice of 1 lemon
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 8 oz bowtie pasta
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the bowtie pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside, saving a bit of pasta water for later use.
  2. Season the chicken strips with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken and cook for 6-7 minutes until golden brown and cooked through. Add garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant. Stir in lemon zest and juice, followed by butter, and let it soak for a minute before removing from heat.
  3. In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add heavy cream and chicken broth, stirring until combined. Bring to a simmer and cook for 2-3 minutes until sauce thickens. Stir in Parmesan cheese until melted and season with salt and pepper.
  4. Add the cooked bowtie pasta to the skillet, tossing until well coated. If sauce is too thick, add reserved pasta water to reach desired consistency. Gently stir in the lemon garlic chicken.
  5. Plate the chicken with pasta and garnish with fresh parsley and additional Parmesan cheese.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 2-3 days. Reheat gently on the stove or in the microwave, adding cream or chicken broth if needed.
