  • Zest of 1 orange

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream the sugar, butter, and vegetable oil until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Stir in orange juice, orange zest, and vanilla extract.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients until just combined.
  7. Divide the batter equally between the prepared pans.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. Allow to cool in pans for 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
