A classic German dessert, this Black Forest Cake combines rich chocolate, creamy filling, and juicy cherries for a delightful treat.

- 1 and 1/2 cups wheat flour
- 2 tablespoons chocolate powder
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 3/4 cup butter (softened)
- 1 egg
- 4 tablespoons water (approximately)
- 1 tablespoon colorless gelatin powder
- 3 tablespoons water
- 1 can condensed milk
- 1 sifted gem (egg yolk)
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup chopped drained cherries in syrup
- 1 box (200g) cream
- 2 egg whites
- 2 cups whipped cream
- 100g milk chocolate chips
- Drained cherries in syrup for decoration
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix the flour, chocolate powder, sugar, butter, and egg until you get a dough.
- Gradually add water, mixing well until the dough is smooth.
- Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
- Roll out the dough and line the bottom of a 24 cm springform pan. Pierce holes in the dough with a fork.
- Bake at 200°C for 10 minutes.
- For the filling, hydrate the gelatin in water.
- In a saucepan, mix condensed milk, egg yolk, cornstarch, and milk. Heat while stirring until it boils and thickens.
- Add the chopped cherries and the hydrated gelatin mixture to the saucepan. Mix well.
- Fold in cream and beaten egg whites carefully.
- Spread the filling over the baked crust.
- Refrigerate the cake for 4 hours until set.
- Remove from the mold, cover with whipped cream, and decorate with chocolate shavings and cherries.
Notes
Ensure the butter is softened before mixing. Use high-quality chocolate and cherries for the best flavor.
