Description

A classic Italian dessert featuring layers of coffee-soaked ladyfingers and creamy mascarpone cheese, perfect for gatherings and celebrations.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup strong coffee
  • 1/2 cup coffee liqueur
  • 3 cups mascarpone cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 packages ladyfingers
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp chocolate shavings

Instructions

  1. Brew the coffee and mix it with the coffee liqueur; let it cool.
  2. In a bowl, whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla until stiff peaks form.
  3. Fold the mascarpone cheese into the whipped cream until smooth.
  4. Dip the ladyfingers briefly in the coffee mixture and layer them in a dish.
  5. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers.
  6. Repeat the layers and finish with a smooth top layer of mascarpone.
  7. Dust the top with cocoa powder and sprinkle chocolate shavings on top.
  8. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours before serving.

Notes

For a richer flavor, use dark coffee and high-quality coffee liqueur. Letting it chill overnight is ideal for deepening flavors.
