- 1 box chocolate cake mix (or your favorite recipe)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tbsp milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup flour (heat-treated for safety)
- 1 cup mini chocolate chips
- 2 cups chocolate frosting
- 1/2 cup mini chocolate chip cookies (for garnish)
- Chocolate drizzle (optional)
Instructions
- Bake the chocolate cake according to package instructions in two 8-inch round pans. Allow to cool completely.
- For the edible cookie dough, beat the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar in a bowl until smooth.
- Add the milk, vanilla extract, and heat-treated flour. Mix until combined.
- Stir in the mini chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
- To serve, place one layer of the chocolate cake on a cake stand. Spread a layer of chocolate frosting on top. Then, add a layer of cookie dough.
- Place the second layer of chocolate cake on top and frost the entire cake.
- For a beautiful finish, sprinkle mini chocolate chip cookies on top and add a chocolate drizzle if desired.
Notes
Ensure to heat-treat the flour for safety. You can use store-bought frosting or make your own for added flavor.
