- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 3/4 cup butter
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup chocolate ganache
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup chopped dark chocolate
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two cake pans.
- In a bowl, mix the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and baking soda.
- In another bowl, cream together the butter and sugar. Then, add the eggs one by one, mixing well.
- Slowly add the dry ingredients and buttermilk to the butter mixture, alternating them until combined.
- Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans and bake for 25 to 30 minutes. Let the cakes cool after baking.
- Whip the heavy cream with the vanilla extract, then spread the whipped cream between the layers of cake.
- Pour the chocolate ganache over the top and the sides of the cake.
- Decorate with the chopped dark chocolate and refrigerate for 1 hour to set.
Notes
Ensure all ingredients are at room temperature for better mixing. Let the cake cool completely before adding frosting.
