- 200g dark chocolate
- 150g butter
- 150g sugar
- 4 eggs
- 100g flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 300ml cream
- 50g cocoa powder
- 100g chocolate chips
- Whipped cream for topping
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 180°C.
- Melt the dark chocolate and butter together in a bowl.
- In another bowl, beat the eggs and sugar until the mixture is smooth.
- Mix the melted chocolate into the egg mixture.
- Add the flour and baking powder to the wet mix and stir well.
- Divide the batter into three equal parts and pour each into separate baking tins.
- Bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Once baked, let the layers cool completely.
- Whip the cream with the cocoa powder and spread it between each cake layer.
- Cover the top with melted chocolate glaze and sprinkle with chocolate chips.
- Add dollops of whipped cream on top.
- Chill the cake in the fridge before serving.
Notes
For a fresh twist, add fruits like raspberries or strawberries between the layers.
