Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup cocoa powder

  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 cup chocolate frosting
  • 1 cup whipped cream
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup chocolate candies
  • 1/4 cup chocolate ganache

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt together.
  3. Add the eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients, and mix until well combined.
  4. Carefully stir in the boiling water; the batter will be thin, which is normal.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pans and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  6. Allow the cakes to cool completely in the pans on a wire rack.
  7. Once cool, layer the cakes with chocolate frosting and whipped cream in between the layers.
  8. Pour the chocolate ganache over the top of the cake, letting it drip down the sides.
  9. Decorate the cake with chocolate chips and candies for an extra special touch.
  10. Chill the cake in the refrigerator for 1 hour before serving.
