Description

A rich and creamy cake that combines smooth chocolate mousse with a delightful hint of hazelnut, all on a crunchy cookie crust.


Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups chocolate cookie crumbs
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 8 oz dark chocolate, chopped
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup hazelnut spread
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chopped hazelnuts
  • 2 tbsp chocolate sauce

Instructions

  1. Mix the chocolate cookie crumbs and melted butter together. Press this mixture into the bottom of an 8-inch springform pan. Chill for 30 minutes.
  2. In a double boiler, melt the dark chocolate, then let it cool slightly.
  3. Whip the heavy cream with the powdered sugar and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
  4. Fold the melted chocolate and hazelnut spread into the whipped cream until well combined.
  5. Pour this mixture over the chilled crust. Smooth the top and refrigerate for 4 hours.
  6. Before serving, sprinkle the chopped hazelnuts on top and drizzle with chocolate sauce.
  7. Slice and serve the cake.

Notes

Store any leftover cake in the refrigerator. It’s best enjoyed within the first couple of days.
