Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 3/4 cups granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup hot water
- 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
- 12 ounces dark chocolate, chopped
- 1 cup whipped cream
- Fresh strawberries and mint leaves for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 8-inch cake pans.
- In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
- Add the eggs, buttermilk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Beat everything together until well combined.
- Stir in the hot water until the batter is smooth. Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pans.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let the cakes cool completely.

- Garnish with fresh strawberries and mint leaves. Serve and enjoy!
Notes
