A rich and indulgent chocolate cake topped with sweet cherry filling and chocolate ganache, perfect for any occasion.

- 1 box chocolate cake mix
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 3 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 (21 oz) can cherry pie filling
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 2 tbsp powdered sugar
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup fresh cherries or maraschino cherries
- Chocolate shavings
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, mix the chocolate cake mix, milk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Gently fold in 1/2 cup of cherry pie filling.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool completely.
- In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream until it is steaming but not boiling.
- Pour the hot cream over the chocolate chips and let it sit for 2 minutes, then stir until smooth to create ganache.
- In a cold bowl, beat the heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
- Once the cake has cooled, spread the remaining cherry pie filling over the top.
- Pour and carefully spread the chocolate ganache over the cherry filling and let it set for 10 minutes.
- Add whipped cream, fresh cherries, and chocolate shavings on top.
- Slice the cake and enjoy!
Notes
Store any leftover cake in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-5 days. Serve chilled or at room temperature.
