Description

A rich and airy chocolate mousse that will impress your guests and add sweetness to your New Year’s Eve celebration.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • Pinch of salt
  • Optional toppings: whipped cream, chocolate shavings, berries

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan over low heat, melt the dark chocolate chips and unsalted butter together, stirring until smooth, then remove from heat.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the eggs and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Fold the melted chocolate into the egg mixture carefully to keep it airy.
  4. In another bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form, then gently fold it into the chocolate mixture until fully combined.
  5. Spoon the mousse into serving glasses and refrigerate for at least 120 minutes before serving.

Notes

Use high-quality dark chocolate for a richer flavor. Do not over-whip the cream; aim for soft peaks. Chill longer for a firmer texture.
