Crispy Beef Stir-Fry is a delightful dish that combines tender beef with colorful vegetables and a delicious sauce, perfect for weeknight dinners.

- 1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Vegetable oil, for frying
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tbsp hoisin sauce
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 2 tsp sesame oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 tsp grated ginger
- 1 large red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- Sesame seeds, for garnish
Instructions
- Pat the flank steak dry with a paper towel. Season it with salt and pepper, then coat the steak with cornstarch.
- Heat vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet. Fry the beef in small batches until it turns crispy and golden brown. Set the cooked beef aside.
- Drain any excess oil from the wok. Add a bit of fresh oil and sauté the sliced onion and bell pepper until they are slightly charred.
- In a bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger. Pour the sauce into the wok and simmer until it thickens.
- Return the crispy beef to the wok and toss it to coat it well in the sauce. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top.
- Serve hot with steamed rice or noodles for a complete meal.
Notes
For added color and nutrition, feel free to add other vegetables like broccoli, carrots, or snap peas.
