Description
A delightful dish combining rich flavors with creamy sauce and savory sausage, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb Italian sausage (mild or spicy), casings removed
- 12 oz bowtie (farfalle) pasta
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 3 tbsp butter
- 5 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 4 oz cream cheese, cubed
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the bowtie pasta until al dente. Reserve 1/4 cup of pasta water, then drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add olive oil and cook the Italian sausage until fully browned and slightly crispy. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and melt the butter. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Pour in heavy cream and chicken broth. Add cubed cream cheese and stir until melted and smooth. Mix in mozzarella, Parmesan, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning. Stir until the sauce is thick and creamy.
- Return the sausage to the skillet and add the cooked bowtie pasta. Toss to coat everything in the creamy sauce. Use reserved pasta water to loosen sauce if needed.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and extra Parmesan. Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
For a lighter version, substitute half-and-half for heavy cream. Use spicy Italian sausage for an extra kick.
